Open Plant Cleaning: crucial for hygienic production process

Open plant cleaning is the key to high quality and safe finished products. Micro-organisms remaining after a production shift must be removed. A thorough cleaning and disinfection procedure is accordingly very important.

Flawless hygiene of both the production space and the operators is a very important facet in the whole industrial and production process.

With ‘open plant’ cleaning the process machines (conveyor belts, cutting machines, grinders, etc.) and surface areas are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before a new production shift starts.

3 Cleaning systems for open plant cleaning (OPC):

01. With central chemical supply

How it works

When the chemicals are supplied to each chemical draw-off point from a central technical space we have a central cleaning system.

This system consists of a pressure-booster unit that increases the water pressure, a central chemical dosing unit with dosing pumps and a number of draw-off stations spread throughout the production space, depending on the requirements and capacity.

Your benefits
  • You do not need to bring any chemicals products into the production spaces (safety and logistic considerations).
  • You can buy your chemical products in bulk (e.g. large IBC tanks).

This system is highly suitable for larger production spaces with a number of branch points!

02. With decentralised chemical supply

How it works

With a decentralised cleaning system each draw-off station is fed by a pumping station (a separate pumping station or pump built into the satellite).

The big difference with the central cleaning system is that a jerry can of chemicals must be placed under each draw-off station (DSW). The decentralised system is accordingly not fed by a central chemical dosing unit.

Your benefits
  • A different chemical product can be used for each cleaning job and/or department.
  • No central chemical piping system required.

This system is highly suitable for smaller production spaces or production spaces with different cleaning needs!

03. Mobile cleaning system

How it works

Mobile units can also be useful for open plant cleaning. The mobile units (DSW) work in just the same way as the draw-off stations fixed to the wall.

There are also fully “stand alone” systems (SMU) with built-in pressure-booster pump and/or compressor.

Your benefits
  • An all-in-one device with enormous potential throughout the entire production area.
  • If there is no compressed air available in the production hall, a mobile unit with an integrated compressor (SMU-K) is the ideal solution.

Optionally, the mobile unit can be equipped with a manual reel.
