ABC Logistics
ABC Logistics has grown to become a benchmark in the AGF sector. It is a logistics centre with years of experience and is also IFS-certified, the International Food Standard for matters including food safety. This success story was further highlighted in the course of 2020 with the construction of a new depot with a size of 14,000 m2, consisting of 2 floors with cold stores and ripening facilities along with the necessary hygiene equipment.
Food safety is extremely important for all retailers. They accordingly maintain very strict requirements including at logistics companies, such as ABC Logistics, that are key in this chain.
To be able to comply with the strict requirements ABC Logistics has put strict in-house regulations in place for all employees.
Whoever enters the company premises disinfects their hands at the HDK units before being given access to the check-in desk. Whoever goes further into the logistics centre must pass through another full process.
The first step is soaping the hands at the HDK/XXLs hand soaping stations. Two double units were supplied, so 4 entrance flows could be simultaneous used.
The hands must then be thoroughly washed. BOONS FIS supplied 2 double-sided stainless steel hand-washing sinks (WDR10/2S) in which 10 people could wash their hands at the same time.
The Dyson Airblade Taps are operated hands-free up to and including drying the hands using sensors.
When the hands have been washed they must still be disinfected at the 2 double-sided HDK/XL units. The handy document holders assembled at these stations allow folders and documents to be briefly put aside while the hands are being disinfected.
The employees can operate the necessary disposables (hair nets, beard nets, shoe covers, etc.) with the universal dispensers (UD-WGM).
Fences are also provided in strategic places to bring all employees properly through the hygiene lock. Then the route through the lock is always correctly followed and good personal hygiene is ensured.
Everyone wears industrial clothing once in the depot. This industrial clothing does not leave the company, so no external pathogens can be brought inside also after working hours. To prevent cross-contamination, the offices are not entered in the depot work clothing. Strict compliance with these regulations guarantees the necessary food-safe environment.
