Oleon

BOONS FIS has already successfully completed a number of projects for Oleon in the form of high-pressure units at the production sites in Ertvelde and Oelegem. For this recent project BOONS FIS developed a complete 40 bar pressure-booster unit with frequency-controlled stainless steel centrifugal pumps, built into sea container.

Oleon’s speciality is the processing of natural greases and oils to produce a wide range of oleochemical products such as fatty acids, glycerine, esters, dimers, technical oils, special oleochemicals and biodiesel. As a leading worldwide producer of oleochemicals manufactured from renewable raw materials, their products combine high performance with ready biodegradability. Oleon is a benchmark in the sector.

This unit with water delivery of 200 litres a minute at 40 bar and a temperature of 60 °C is used in different ways for a variety of cleaning tasks on the Oleon site. The water is heated to 60 °C by steam injection, being the obvious choice for Oleon with their particular production process in mind.

A break tank (in conformity with EN1717 and EN 13077) was installed between the central water piping network and the piping network for the cleaning unit. This water tank accommodates any peak loads and prevents the reverse flow of water (with chemicals) to the central water piping network.

It was decided to build the unit into a sea container to implement this complete installation for an indefinite period on the site in Oelegem. In the future this skid can then be simply installed on another site as required.

"Thinking out of the box, assembled in a box"

BOONS FIS also provided the necessary comfort facilities in the container such as lighting, heating and ventilation.

The entire construction of the container was completed at the BOONS FIS workplace. Speedy delivery and a short installation time on the site were important for this project and achieved with success.
